Kay Johnson - Undergraduate Researcher
About Me
I am a part of the Honors Program and the University Research Scholars Program; additionally, I am privileged to have been named as a John V. Lombardi Scholar within a group of diversely talented and charismatic individuals. I come from Melbourne, Florida, though I am originally from Poughkeepsie, New York. I am not yet certain of my intended career path, although I hope to explore public health occupations.
Currently, I work at the University of Florida's Museum of Natural History at the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity as an undergraduate researcher. I am currently involved in a research project at the McGuire Center to address taxonomy and identify features of the Memphis acidalia species complex; I am performing analyses in molecular and morphological procedures, in addition to collaborating with my faculty mentor and a curator at the museum, Dr. Keith Willmott. Such a project is made possible through my acceptance into the Emerging Scholars Program at UF.
